Departments of Economics at the Seoul National University and Yonsei Univeristy will jointly organize the inaugural Korean Empirical Trade Conference which will take place in Seoul, South Korea. This is a sister conference to EIIT, EITI, RMET, SETC, and METC. Economists specializing in empirical international trade will present their latest research at this meeting. These conferences are offered under the rubric of the Forum for Research on Empirical International Trade.

The conference is open to other attendees whose papers are not on the program. There is no entry fee, but space is limited and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis for those not on the program. Please let us know if you will be attending and if you would be willing to serve as a discussant.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER



Format:

The conference will take place on Friday and Saturday. There will be one hour per paper devoted to presentation, discussant remarks, and open discussion. The usual FREIT allocation of time is 40 minutes for the presentation, 10 minutes for the discussant, and 10 minutes for open discussion.

Submissions:

  • The submission deadline has passed.
  • Selections will be made and authors notified by November 21, 2025.

  • While we are unable to cover international airfare, we are pleased to offer a small honorarium to help offset local costs such as accommodation.

Other Information:

  • Lunch will be provided on both days.
  • Coffee, tea, and refreshments will be available throughout the conference sessions on both days.
  • Conference dinner will be provided on Friday.
